I watched Sunshine again tonight. Its been around 5 or 6 months (or longer?) since I last watched it. I find it strange that I dont actually own a copy of this film, considering how much I love it. haze pondered what the movie would be light in high-def, which almost puts the breaks on me buying it right now. Its only a matter of time before I buy a Blue-Ray (HD-DVD is pretty much done for, right?) player.

Anyway, I had a look through my first post, and it appears that I never gave this movie a rating. Its just as well, since I enjoyed it a lot more this time :-) Its one of those movies that is just beautiful to watch, in a sci-fi way. Danny Boyle is one of my favourite directors and when you look at his other works (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) its easy to see why.

Sunshine is not overly realistic in regards to the scenario it depicts. None the less, its a great engrossing movie that kept me interested for the entire duration. The acting is great, the SFX are great, the soundtrack is very fitting. The only downfall, in my view, is the 'monster' ending. Though that did not bother me as much during the second viewing.

Overall, a great piece of work which not everyone will like. 8/10
