My top Albums

Behold the list of my 50 most listened to albums, since 23 December 2005.

The list is generated from my last.fm statistics (http://www.last.fm/user/aussiepoida). I would love to type a description and explanation for each one, but I simply do not have the time.

The number in the brackets represents the number of times I've played a 'track' from that album. Its no the total amount of times I've listened to the album as a whole - I'm not a madman after all :-)

I'll be curious to see how this list changes over the next year or two. I've been listening to some exciting new music lately (like M83, which I'm quite fond of) and I'm sure the placings will change considerable over the next few months. Its also interesting to see that a lot of albums that I havent listened to in ages are in my top 10.. namely The Beatles :-)

On the topic of lj-cuts: I would love to create some manner of lj-cut in order to please some of my readers that dont like my 'long' posts taking up room on their friend pages.... but alas I have no idea how to create them. Yes, I am a moron, but I've just spent 30 minutes fixing this post back up, because something went wrong when I tried to create a cut. Crazy.

Cheers,

aussiepoida

As you know, I adore talking music with you.
I am pleased that a few are albums I have suggested to you. PB&J was something you saw on rage, but something I knew of, and of course theres Sigur Ros, the greatest find the internet has ever provided me. Mew was something I gave you, and M83 was something I play sometimes too. It took you a while to get around to listening to mum, but now there are 2 albums in the list!

And on the other end, you have introduced me to Lemon Jelly, and the new Goldfrapp is something I would have otherwise overlooked.

I thought Id check mine, as I havent in so long.
My top 10 are:
The Olivia Tremor Control: Dusk at Cubist Castle (music from the unrealized film script)
The Olivia Tremor Control: Black Foliage (animation music vol.1)
Sigur Rós: Ágætis Byrjun
Sigur Rós: með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust
of Montreal: Skeletal Lamping
The Beach Boys: Pet Sounds
Circulatory System: Circulatory System
Sigur Rós: ()
The Flaming Lips: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
The Flaming Lips: The Soft Bulletin

I am suprised to find the new Sigur and Montreal so high up, as they are both new albums. Especially the new Montreal, as it is so new.

Interestingly the Mew album is one of only two albums on that list that I dont actually own. I was trying to rectify that situation today, but couldn't find it at JB's. I shall keep an eye out. Incidentally, other other album is Northern Light by Covenant.... that one is a lot harder to rectify, since I've never seen it anywhere :-)

...to think that I havent listened to any Olivia Tremor Control.... perhaps one day :-) Perhaps it will be the next múm for me :-) (in terms of listening, not style)
