The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Hello again.

It’s hard to believe that I've owned a Wii, together with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for more than half a year now... Now that I think about it, that’s not that hard to believe. But what I find hard to believe is that I waited this long to actually play Zelda.

Previously, I was occupying my Wii time with Wii Sports, Wii Play, The Godfather: Blackhand Edition, and not forgetting the fantastic selection of classic games on the Wii Virtual Console...how very much I love them :P

For some reason I was putting Zelda off... I have no idea why. Last weekend however, I finally devoted some time to it and broke through the 3 hour playtime mark. Now, I love it. As a matter of fact, it has been a very long time since I've had as much fun playing a single-player game as I am now :-)

I will, no doubt, write more about this topic later... for now, let me just say this - All Wii owners out there who have not played this game should go out and buy a copy right now! Maybe I'm over-reacting... maybe it’s just been too long since I've played a good game (most probably)... but maybe I'm right in saying that it’s a fantastic game and deserves to be played by all! haze.... go buy!

PS: Please take my excited approval of this product with a grain of salt… those that know me, know what I get a little crazy when I find something I like… but this does not mean that everyone will like it as much.

I remember you didn't want to start it until you had your own house to feel relaxed in. Now that you are settled it is great to see you finally enjoying yourself in the tale of the beautiful Princess Zelda.

You seem rather demanding that I buy it... and maybe I will. Your disinterest for playing it has made me rather callous towards the game even though I know I would love it.

It would be great to be able to share stories of the game but I must first finish Final Fantasy XII - which I fear will take me a very long time.

I realise that I am more than a little to blame for your disinterest in the game... but that is actually the perfect situation for you to be in... the highs will be all the sweeter for you :-)

That being said - are you not growing weary of your Final Fantasy? You 'sometimes' seem to talk of it as a burden, rather than a pleasurable experience.

Yes it sometimes is a burden. This one certainly lacks some of the charm from previous incarnations. I like the story but as that review we watched said, it has too much mindless melee battles to grind through before you can progress. I like to be thorough in the FF games but this one is starting to test my patience.

I think I am looking forward to playing the next Zelda game on my DS before I try the Wii version.

Don't worry, I do like hearing your excited ramblings about your long nights playing Twighlight Princess :)

mmh.. you still harbour much love for your DS... I understand this, though see little reason why you should not experience the Wii first... it would be... natural to do so....

I have always wanted to play FF - Perhaps I will play one of them, one day... and perhaps you will recommend the best one to me... and lend me your PS2 again... perhaps for less time than last time.
